Transcending Generations
The Outsiders has been read by many students from its publication in 1967, right up to today in our class. S.E. Hinton wasn't satisfied with the literature that was being written for young adults, so she wrote The Outsiders, her first of many novels. Due to its great success it has been translated into over 20 languages and been made into a movie.
The Outsiders Movie
The movie was created in 1983, and was wildly popular because of the heart throb teen idols that were chosen to represent the characters in the book. Remember the description of how good looking Sodapop was? Check out a blog that has been devoted to him here. Yes that is a very young Rob Lowe playing the part! There were also other big names like:
Matt Dillon
Ralph Macchio
Patrick Swayze
Emilio Estevez and
Tom Cruise
Watch the movie's trailer below, then have some fun and try to answer as many trivia style questions as you can here. These questions were created by a fan and all of them have improper grammar (mostly capitalization errors). Make the necessary changes and retype these questions properly as "Part 4" in your word document.
After, click here to move to the blog. This is a place where we can try to create a site like the fan site we linked to above, but for the entire book.
